A number of tradeswomen and apprentices from leading Scottish construction company City Building (Glasgow) LLP, will hit the streets in a Glasgow fun run this weekend to raise money for good causes.
Around 30 women from the company will take part in the Bellahouston Park 5K Fun Run on Saturday 27 July to raise funds for charity that will be divided between Cancer Research, Kidney Research and Scottish Autism. Scottish Autism holds particular significance to one of the team’s electrician Jackie Drake, whose young son has autism.
Jackie said: It’s great that all the girls have got together to take part in the race for three charities that all do great work. Raising money for Scottish Autism was important to me because they do a lot to support individuals diagnosed with autism and their families.
“”They have been a great support to my family and I am really happy to be able to give a little something by taking part in the fun run.””
City Building’s fleet supplier, Enterprise, have sponsored the event, donating £1,000 which covered the entry fee along with the provision of t-shirts for the team. Pink hard hats were also provided for the women by another of the company’s suppliers, Arco.
